The Ares I-X launch vehicle is now secured on the launch pad. The targeted launch date is October 27, 2009. The launch window is from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM EDT. Ares I-X will liftoff from Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The Progress 35 cargo resuply vehicle launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome has docked to the International Space Station on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 9:41 PM EDT.
IRVE, or the Inflatable Re-entry Vehicle Experiment, is a NASA mission which was designed to demonstrate that inflatable structures can be used as heat shields for re-entry vehicles. IRVE launched from NASA\’s Wallops Flight Facility, which is located on Virginia\’s Eastern Shore on the Delmarva Peninsula.
Expedition 20 crew members Commander Gennady Padalka and Flight Engineer Michael Barratt have returned to Earth. They shared the Soyuz TMA-14 capsule with Canadian spaceflight participant Guy Laliberte.
