On August 28, 2009, at 11:59 PM EDT, Space Shuttle Discovery launched from Launch Pad 39A, Kennedy Space Center. Discovery\’s payload contains the Leonardo Multi-Purpose Logistics Module and the Lightweight Multi-Purpose Experiment Support Structure Carrier.
The STS-128 crew consists of Commander Rick Sturckow, Pilot Kevin Ford, mission specialists José Hernández, John “Danny” Olivas, Nicole Stott, European Space Agency\’s Christer Fuglesang and Patrick Forrester. Nicole Stott will remain on the space station as flight engineer, replacing Timothy Kopra.
