NGC 6240, which used to be two galaxies, is now in the process of becoming one. The message is clear\u2026 stay away from the colliding cores of two merging galaxies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 5px;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 5px;\">Paul Scott Anderson, from The Meridiani Journal, tells us that the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/web.me.com\/meridianijournal\/meridianijournal\/blog\/Entries\/2009\/3\/19_a_glimpse_of_endeavour.html\">Opportunity MER has caught its first glimpse of the Endeavour crater<\/a>. Opportunity is now about twelve kilometers away from the crater. The S6 truss segment with the remaining solar arrays made it to the International Space Station. But this was not the highlight! Ian O\u2019Neill from astroENGINE has all the details for you. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.astroengine.com\/?p=4180\">A bat attached itself to the external tank of the Space Shuttle.<\/a> The bat also got a name\u2026 Brian, and there is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.astroengine.com\/?cat=735\">a foundation set up in its memory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 5px;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 5px;\">There are many speculations about the fate of this unfortunate little guy. My guess is that it got its tongue stuck on the external tank\u2026 triple bat dare! The goal of the company is to build small fusion reactors that can produce around 100 megawatts of power. The company claims plants would cost around US$50 million, allowing them to generate electricity at about four cents per kilowatt-hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 5px;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 5px;\">Music of the Spheres <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/flyingsinger.blogspot.com\/2009\/03\/space-expo-2009.html\">reports on Space Expo 2009<\/a>, an upcoming event that may be of interest to New England space enthusiasts.
